Be a flashpacker if you are a tech-lover!

Whenever we pack for traveling, we all know what things are needed for it. A lot of people do the mistake of over packing or under packing. Earlier I did the same mistakes from which I learned a lot. But keep in mind one thing for sure, you cannot have everything under your control. The same thing goes with the packing stuff.
Packing depends on the destination you are headed to and its duration. Living in the tech era, I think it is very important to have the technology by your side. Flashpacker or backpacker, make friends with technology.
Okay. What gadgets, do we need to carry while traveling? Travel gadgets are quite a long one. But you need not worry, I’m going to tell you what necessary (mostly forgotten) tech stuff to carry along with you apart from laptop or smartphone?

1.      Bag

This the most important gear of any traveler. The backpack should be well pocketed, padded shoulder straps, on the bottom and on corners (for laptops/tablets), padded hip belts and made up of lighter yet stronger material. If someone happens to cut or steal your bag, an alarm should buzz off, notifying you. Backpacks should be waterproof and have a suspension system attached to them. Proper ventilation, lockable zippers, foldable wheels attachment also adds another feather to your backpack gear.

2.      OTG pen drive or external hard disks

There is no need to carry separate pen drives or card reader for gathering data to/from tablet/laptop /mobiles or camera etc. Just buy yourself an OTG drives suitable for devices. Also, there is no harm in carrying an external hard disk, because your device space is bound to get full.

3.      Portable hammock/sleeping bag

If you are heading into wild or you get sucked into unfavorable conditions, portable hammock or sleeping bag comes to your help.

4.      Reading apps

Bookworms, there is no need to ooze tears. We have a solution for you too. There is no need to buy Kindle or books either. Just install Moon+ reader pro app on your smartphone. It could read files with either .txt or .doc or. docx or pdf extensions and much more. You can install other reading apps too. Use of smartphone is essential.

5.      Survival tactics

Another feather in the cap of a flashpacker! The flashpacker must be aware of the surroundings. How to do best in such situations? What is a-must-have-list for any flashpacker? The list is quite a long one. But what you must have is mentioned right below -
·         Water purifier bottle/insulated mugs
·         Modern tools like a magnifying glass, char cloth, flashlight, flint, and steel etc.
·         Chlorine/iodine tablets
·         The news app, Google maps
·         Install lingual apps like memrise or duolingo. Local phrases also come in handy.
·         Apart from first aid kit, insects repellent, breathing masks, you can also take regular medicines like pain pills, paracetamol, birth-control pills, Iodex, lip balm, Anti-Diarrhoea Meds, Motion Sickness Tablets, Neosporin, nasal decongestant etc.
·         Most important, don’t forget to carry smaller denomination currency.
·         Stock yourself with a notepad, pen, pencil and Swiss army knife.
·         Stock yourself with MRE’s. Meals ready to eat comes in handy.

6.      Solar-Powered Inflatable Light

Carry a torch with yourself, if you wish to peek into the wild.

7.      Fitness band

Fitness band measures your pulse rate, calories and sleep count, the distance you walked etc.

8.       Chargers/sockets/adapters/batteries/cameras

Not everywhere you’ll find chargers or adapters etc. that exactly meet your need. So, it would be 100% wise choice to have everything fixed beforehand. A hands-free wearable camera is also a good option.
Whatever tech stuff, you are taking with you totally depends on where you are heading and its duration. Flashpacker makes your life easier, but that doesn’t mean every gear is essential for you.
So, don’t forget the most important ingredient for anything you do. Any guess? Your brain! Research well, decide, and then you are all set to go.
The end.
